Whats the easiest thing for a Blogger to do? - Give Up!!

Written on August 15, 2007 – 12:00 pm | by DM |

There are times when you feel at the top of the world, when you look at your blog, you see all the elements, placed perfectly, where you want them to be. The posts, the archives, the Subscribe button and even the little widget in the corner! And why won’t you be? You have worked hard, went in that tangled HTML code and that messy CSS layout, tried many things, by trial and error, got some right, some didn’t quite work out the way you wanted, but at the end the blog just looks perfect!

But then, you get out onto the web, checking out the blogs of other bloggers, some whom you consider as an ideal, some who are your competitors(in a good way of course), and then you wonder, Why can’t my web page header look as cool as his, or hey cant I have a nice layout in the side bar as he has. And then you come back to your Blog, trying to duplicate or improve upon what the other guy has done. you open several tabs in your Firefox, looking for tutorials on CSS, HTML, Photoshop and what not. Then the learning phase starts.

If you are familiar with the basic stuff about these new features that you are reading, its okay, but if you are venturing in an unexplored territory, boy, that can be a pain in the neck. You explore, you read new things like a crazy guy, the Bookmark folder named “Tutorials” is just filling up with new bookmarks, and the result, you aren’t making much progress, getting frustrated and ultimately develop, what I call : BLESS - Bloggers Low Esteem Synthetic Syndrome.I call it Synthetic as it is completely uncalled for, but being a new blogger, full of curiosity and excitement, one does become a victim. Well this isn’t a good news really. The reason why most of the are abandoned after nourishment for a few months, are lack of new content and BLESS which is the 2nd most lethal Blog killer.

“BLESS:

Bloggers Low Esteem Synthetic Syndrome”

The Best way to counter this syndrome from kicking in, is by being patient. A new blogger must understand that, a fancy header and a classy template won’t help him succeed as a blogger. The only points he needs to remember is, to write consistently and interact with fellow bloggers in the same niche and form a network, everything else will fall in place as time goes by.You fall and you get up, you learn with time, just don’t do the easiest thing, coz its so easy!

Just write your heart out, the people who match your frequency will find you, sooner or a “BIT” later. But dont give up, coz as the new maxim says, A successful “blogger” needs to be a consistent “slogger”!

Good luck my fellow bloggers, and don’t fall victims to BLESS!

    You are welcome.

I am glad you liked it. I am gonna write more about this as more and more bloggers are getting discouraged now a days and I don’t like to see that happening.

Stay tuned, more is coming up!
