Contact Forms for Blogs and so much more.
On the blog the comments are the best medium to communicate with the author about the subject he has written upon and discuss regarding its various aspects. But recently, I have received comments on some posts where the visitor has asked me questions not related to the Post at all. No, Luckily it wasn’t Spam, but genuine questions asked by visitors. This made me realize there should be some other medium for the visitors to contact me. The obvious answer was a Contact form. Now there are several scripts and plug-ins available on the web to construct a contact form, but I wanted much more from a contact form than they could provide. Here Zoho came to the rescue.
Now, Zoho.com is no ordinary website. They are an online applications provider, who can be compared to the online applications of the Google pack. The various services provided by Zoho.com are:
Zoho Sheet: Online spreadsheet service.
Zoho Meeting: Zoho Meeting - Web Conferencing
Zoho Show: Online presentation tool
Zoho Writer: Online word processor
Zoho Notebook: Online Note Taker
Zoho Creator: Online web applications creator.
Zoho Planner: Online organizing tool.
Zoho Wiki: Online Wiki with public, private & group permissions
Zoho Chat: Instant messaging and group chat tool
The one I use most often is the Zoho creator. This is the service that every blogger who wants to correspond with his visitors and also keep a decent record of the correspondence, should use. You can see the Form created by Zoho creator in action in my About Page
The features that make this contact form unique are the following features:
- Any changes made to the form on your Zoho account immediately reflect on your Blog or Website.
- Zoho creates a Tabular database corresponding to each form and and information submitted is stored in it for future reference.
- Now where there is a Form there is SPAM, but Zoho has a solution for that as well. If you want you can enable a CAPTCHA option for your form.
- And also did I mention its an AJAX form and submits the information in few seconds.
- You can also enable a feature in the form, that you would receive an email notification for submission through the form.
You can check out the from on my About page, but please don’t Spam me! Any questions regarding this can be asked through comments and I would be very happy to answer them.
