Before I tell this, let me briefly explain how search engines actually index pages from existing websites. Suppose Webmasterwidget is one site that already exists on the Google index. And now, here I am creating a new thread - a new webpage that did not exist before.

Google keeps sending its robot to look for new updates at Webmasterwidget. Now when this new thread is created, there is a link to this on the forums page. Google sees this new link and indexes this new page as well on its database.

Now, what if I provide a link to my own brand new website here? Google will see that one too, and index this new site. So, what we need to do to get our site submitted to search engines is list our website URL on some of the most popular websites. These are websites that are indexed several time in a day by Google. So, posting your link there will get your site indexed real fast.

So, what are these sites you can submit your link to:

1. Digg
2. Del.icio.us
3. Reddit

And a lot more. In fact, you can get indexed in also a matter of hours using this technique!

Thats an excellent tip. Also to add to this I would like to indicate at other sites similar to this.

1) Sphinn.com : Getting very popular now a days. This one mostly focuses on Social Media and SEO.

2) Bloggingzoom.com : Based on the Digg model. Focus is on Blogging mostly.

Both are a good source of traffic and both get indexed quite fast, like the ones indicated above by XooX. Smiley

Just want to ask a theoretical question. Let’s say that you create a duplicate site. Can it be still indexed using this method?

Yes. It can be, but I suggest not to do that, coz duplicate site (with mostly same content) would get you banned from the Google Index!

If you somehow dont get banned then your search rankings would go down big time. Google hates Duplicate content!

You can do all that and not get indexed by Google in less than 48 hours.
Google has his own schedule and own criteria to decide whether or not to index a website after having found it.
I did all what you suggested and it took more than 2 weeks for Google to index my site.

Yes Google has a schedule, but if you yourself have a blog that is updated every few days, say 3-4 days , but you want the contact to be indexed the next day itself, submitting to these services helps!
